Designed at baukind, Kita “Tommelise” is a a trilingual and multicultural kindergarten under the sponsor Nobiwerk in Berlin Neukölln with Thumblina (Tommelise, in Danish) as its theme of inspiration.
Multiplex furniture.
The main corridors are reminiscent of the settings in which Thumbelina wanders on her journey: the field and the pond.
Earth, water and sky are recognisable in the design of the furniture as well as in the paints on the corridor walls.

The graphics that enable children and teachers to recognise the different classrooms can be traced back to the shape of the seed from which Thumbelina is born: this shape is reinterpreted and transformed into different elements, both natural and animal.
