A playful space where to chill while waiting for your next flight at the Munich Airport, Area Satellite, Terminal 2.
The project was created at Hyphen.
Starting point of the design was a lunar landscape with its circular lines. combined with the shapes of historic flying machines and their wooden support structures.
Partitions are accessible from both sides, in varying heights and densities they follow the circular lines and divide the area into regions with different privacy levels.
They separate social areas from work and resting areas, this giving peace and quiet or interaction depending on passenger’s needs.
The freestanding furniture of the recreation areas are produced in cooperation with VITRA.
There is also a presentation space provided for VITRA at the intersection between public and private space.

The structure concept takes inspiration from the old Da Vinci’s flying machines and creates different areas for travelers who want to relax and those who want to use their laptops at the high desks.
